Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding
In publisher's original cloth binding. With eight tipped-in colour plates of birds and flowers. Collated complete. Undated, dated from a copy held by the British Library. This work is part of C. G. Holme's 'Glimpses of Old Japan' series, compiling colour illustrations from Japanese artists across time on themes such as 'Landscape', 'The Figure' and 'The Geisha'. Holme was a well-known editor of successful magazine The Studio: An Illustrated Magazine of Fine and Applied Art, which ran from 1893 to 1964.
Condition
In publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, generally smart with slight rubbing to the spine resulting in loss of cloth. The odd mark, evident on the title piece. Curling to front board and spine tips. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with spotting heavier to the first and last few pages.
