    This volume covers breakthroughs in powered flight, chronicling the evolution of aviation from fragile early prototypes to the streamlined military and commercial aircraft of the 1930s.

    Captain W. E. Johns (1893–1968) was an ex-RAF officer, aviation journalist, and celebrated creator of the “Biggles” stories.

    Condition

    In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Slight fading to spine. One or two very minor handling marks. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with one or two spots and handling marks to fore edge and first and last few leaves.
