A fascinating collection of photography from the 'Photography Year Book' series. This copy, the 1935 edition, was the first published of this series and was edited by T. Korda.
This was was intended to be an annual survey of every branch and aspect of photography. Including photographs from around the world of people, places, everyday items, and events. There are more than 1700 reproductions of black and white photographs from this year.
Containing images from well-known publishing companies, as well as avant-garde and relatively obscure sources in order to present a wide range of photographic samples. Including photographs from Vogue, Kodak Ltd., London Press Exchange, Ansel Adams, Fox Photos, and more.
Also including selection of postage stamps, photo-murals, book jackets, and advertisements.
Including seventy-seven pages of advertisements to the rear.
Previous owner's ink inscription to the front free-endpaper: 'A.P. Richards, 12 Lancashire Rd., St Andrews, Bristol'.
Condition
In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding with illustrated paper covered boards. Externally, smart, with some shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Some light spotting to the paper covered boards. Previous owner's ink inscription to the front free-endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. A few spots to the free-endpapers and title page, otherwise pages are bright and clean.
