First edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece and sixteen images across fifteen plates. Collated complete. A collection of sporting memories, with personal impressions of jockeys, trainers, and various others found on the Turf. With chapters entitled: Jockeys of Today and Yesterday, National Hunt Jockeys, Famous Trainers, and more. Written by Major John Fairfax-Blakeborough, an English writer and folklorist. During the First World War he served as a Major in 15th/19th The King's Royal Hussars, being awarded the Military Cross, and after the war he became a racing judge at Sedgefield and a licensed Turf official.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with minor wear to the extremities and the odd small mark to the boards. Light fading to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd small spot. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown.
