This historical novel was written by the noted adventure novel writer and pioneer of the 'lost world genre', H. Rider Haggard. The story is set during the reign of Edward III and depicts the Battle of Crecy and the Black Death, with a supernatural element through the character of Murgh, the personification of Death.

Condition

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with fading to the spine, slight shelf wear, minimal marks to the boards and a very minor lean. Internally firmly bound with lightly age toned pages and the odd spot with light offsetting to the blanks.
