1934 illustrated with a colour frontispiece, three colour plates, and many monochrome and colour in-text illustrations.

Condition

In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper to the boards. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. Spines are lightly discoloured and faded. Some minor marks to the boards and spines. A little loss of paper to the rear board of 1955. Front hinge of 1934 is starting. Hinges of 1936 are strained, rear hinge a little weak, front endpaper has been removed. Head of the front endpaper of 1934 has been excised, with charming colour stencil paintings by a prior owner to the verso of the front endpaper and to the reverse of the frontispiece. Prior owner's ink to the recto of the front endpaper of 1950 and 1955. Small amount of loss to the bottom edge of the front endpaper of 1955. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the occasional spot and handling mark. Pages 54 and 56 of 1934, page 33 of 1936, with a prior owner's colour painting to the illustrations.
