A detailed work on the world's fastest train, the Cheltenham Flyer, with chapters in the speed, progress, and achievements of the locomotive. Track Topics, 1935. Illustrated with a frontispiece and many in-text black-and-white images. A collection of talks on locomotives, including commentary on Brunel, box tunnels, maintaining the track, bridges, gradients, and more. Loco's of "The Royal Road", 1936. Illustrated with a folding colour frontispiece and many in-text black-and-white images. A collection of talks on the Royal railway lines, including commentary on the earliest locomotives, standard engines, the mighty "Kings", engine components, classification, and more.

Condition

In the original pictorial paper binding. Externally, sound with wear and light chipping to the extremities. Light sunning to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Small closed tears to the head and tail of the spine resulting in minor loss. A large closed tear to the rear joint of Track Topics, with the front joint split. Internally, generally firmly bound. Front board and first few pages of Track Topics held by cords only. Pages are very bright with the odd small handling mark and light age toning to the endpapers.
