Compiled by members of the Shropshire Federation of Women’s Institutes, this 1930 community cookbook gathered recipes contributed by WI members from across the county.
Includes a rich variety of traditional and regional English dishes alongside more unusual creations such as Mock Crabs, Japanese Salad, Stuffed Mushrooms, Potato and Cheese Pie, Half-Pay Pudding, Tintern Cream, Mutton Soup, Sheep’s Head Broth, Fish Custard, Brawn, and Fidget Pie, among many others

In the publisher's original cloth wraps. Externally, generally smart. Slight soiling to wraps, more so to rear. The odd handling mark, crease and scratch. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities resulting in slight fraying to cloth and slight loss to cloth. The odd spot to endpapers with the odd slight crease. Previous bookseller's discreet sticker to front free endpaper. Pages bright and clean, if typically age toned, with the odd spot to first and last few leaves. Pencil colouring to the title page and advertisement page 94.
