The third edition, published the same year as the first. 

The author's presentation copy, inscribed by the author to the verso of the frontispiece; "To mrs D. Tilnes, with all best wishes, A T Tschiffely 'Manche' and 'Gato' the **** London Feb 9th 1934". The volume also includes a charming Christmas card from the author with a wood engraving of himself and horse inside. 

Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece and 31 plates over 61 pages, collated complete. 

Aime Felix Tschiffely's bestselling account of his three year journey on horseback from Buenos Aires to Washington DC, a feat believed back then to be impossible. The journey was of particular note not only due to its ground breaking nature, but due to the choice of horse. The horses, named Mancha and Gato, were native criollo horses renowned for their stamina, and were direct descendants of the the horses Pedro de Mendoza brought to Argentina in 1535.

In the publisher's original cloth. Externally generally smart with a closed tear to the head and tail of the spine, Slight fading to the extremities, and the odd slight mark. Minor offsetting to the free endpapers. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages. Author's inscription to the verso of the frontispiece.
