Early reprint edition of May the Mare The Life Story of a Horse by George Jennison in the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper.
This novel advertised as suitable for all ages is the fictionalised story of a horse told in the form of an autobiography. First published in 1926 and reprinted twice, this is the third impression.
Includes a colour plate as the frontispiece and colourful pictorial dust wrapper. The dust wrapper for this book is very scarce.
There is some significant loss to the dust wrapper across where it sits on the rear board and the head of the spine. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. The dust wrapper has some significant loss across where it sits on the rear board and the head of the spine. To the binding, there is a slight mark to the rear board. There is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There is some spotting to the fore edge. Prior owner's ink inscription to the first free endpaper. Internally, generally firmly bound. The pages are bright and clean.
