The first edition of this vanishingly scarce work, with two copies held institutionally in Britain, at the British Library and the University of Cambridge Libraries. 

In the original unclipped dust wrapper.

An interesting military work looking at the problem of the defence of India, studying the military state of country after the era of the British Empire. A detailed work with many statistics. 

With a foreword by N. C. Kelkar.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few light marks and very minor rubbing to the boards and spine. Dust wrapper is a little edge worn, heaveir to the head and tail of the spine. Spine is a little sunned. A few minor handling marks to the dust wrapper. Tide mark to the reverse of the dust wrapper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright with some scattered spots.
