In the publisher's original red cloth binding.

Embellished with lovely illustrations throughout by Cecil Aldin, a British artist who is best known for his sketches of rural life, animals and hunting. 

These fox-hunting themed verses, some of which originally appeared in British magazine 'Punch', are from Irish writer Patrick R. Chalmers, who wrote in numerous areas as well as field sports, such as horse racing. 

His poetry often revolved around war, dogs and cats, and Irish life. 

Condition

In the original cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with light shelf wear. Fading to the spine and a few marks to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with only a few scattered spots to the title leaf.
