This is the first illustrated edition in book form.
Uniformly bound in the publisher's blue cloth.
Offering an impressive account of the events leading up to the war, the war itself and the period following the war, including major battles, Churchill's reorganisation of the Royal Navy and the Irish Troubles.
Each volume is illustrated throughout with full-page and in-text monochrome photographs, maps and figures.
Condition
In the publisher's original blue cloth binding. Externally, with marks, rubbing and bumping to the extremities. With damp staining to the boards of Vol I, causing warping. Slight discolouration to the spines. Rear hinge to Vol II is tender. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean. With scattered spotting to all endpapers and tide marks to the front endpapers of Vol I.
