An account of Sing Sing, written by the prison warden, Lewis E. Lawes, who spent twenty-one years as Warden of Sing Sing Correctional Facility in New York, during which time he oversaw three hundred and three executions. This was Lawes' most famous work, and was made into films in 1932 and 1940.
This work details not only the history of the prison, the prisoners within and the executions, but it also illuminates the criminal mind.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Light shelf wear to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A few light marks to the cloth. Edge wear to the dust wrapper has resulted in small chips and closed tears, with tape repairs to the reverse. Light age-toning and spots to the wraps. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
