Gibbings was most noted for his influential work as a wood engraver, being one of the founding members of the Society of Wood Engravers in 1920.
Condition
In the original cloth binding. With the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, very smart, with light rubbing and marks to the extremities. Dust wrapper is chipped to the spine and edge worn. With sunning to the spine and marks to the wrap. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean, with only light spotting to the endpapers.
