Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Uncommon

The first U.S. edition of this work.

An interesting propaganda work promoting the Soviet Union before the Second World War, focusing on the First Five-Year Plan of the Soviet Union after the First World War. The authors look at the serious importance of the work of Socialist construction in the country, shown mostly and vividly through photographs.

This first five year plan began in 1928, created by Joseph Stalin, centering around rapid industrialisation and the collectivisation of agriculture. Though hoping to transform the Soviet Union from a weak and poorly controlled agriculture state, the Union went on to have thirteen such 'Five Year Plans'.

Illustrated with photographs to every page, with captions in German, English, and French.

By Ernst Glaeser and Franz Weiskopf.

Postscript by Alfred Kurella.
