'The Compleat Angler' is Izaak Walton's well known seventeenth century work celebrating the art and spirit of fishing, in both prose and verse.

The text of this edition is from the 1676 fifth edition. The work was expanded and added to by the author for fifteen years after its first publication.

Illustrated by Arthur Rackham, the noted book illustrator, who is considered to be one of the leaders of the 'Golden Age' of book illustrations. Rackham's work was notable for his robust use of pen and ink, which were combined with watercolours.
