First edition. Limited to two hundred and ten copies of this special edition, of which this is number seventy-four. Signed by the author to the limitation page. Set in rural England following the First World War, this novel follows Georgina Smithers as she experiences the banality of her provincial life until her handsome cousin arrives. Aldington satirizes feigned gentility and literary pretentiousness in line with the common theme of disillusionment found in many of his works, believed to be due to his experiences during the war. Written by Richard Aldington, an English writer and poet who was an early associate of the Imagist movement.
