What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
First edition. Very scarce edition. The memoirs of Hector Charles Bywater, a British journalist and military writer, from his time acting as a naval spy for Britain. Bywater was the son of a middle-class Welshman who had emigrated with his family into the United States in 1901. At age nineteen, he began writing naval articles for the New York Herald and later was sent as foreign correspondent to London. There he became a naval spy for Britain, as a natural gift with languages allowed him to pass for a native German. Written with assistance from H. C. Ferraby, a British journalist and author.
