The first edition.
The poetry in this collection was authored between 1926 and 1930, and had either never before been published, or had only appeared in small limited editions.
Robert Graves was an English poet, novelist, critic and classicist, with much of his work focusing upon classical themes. As well as poetry, Graves wrote a number of extremely successful historical novels, including 'I, Claudius' and 'Count Belisarius'.
Without the original dust wrapper.
Condition
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally,smart. Spine and head of the front board are a little faded. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. A few light marks to the cloth. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with scattered spots.
