First edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece and eight photographs across six plates. Collated complete. The memoirs of Fred Goss, a Scottish sportsman and stag harbourer, from his twenty-eight years with the Devon and Somerset stag hounds. Including chapters on the early days, harbouring in general, slotting, tufting, antlers, hunting, Haddon, Weir, Exmoor, and more. As well as a note to the First World War and life following the conflict. Edited by Herbert Campbell Thomson, a British author and editor. With a preface from Hugh Fortescue, 4th Earl Fortescue, an English Liberal politician who sat in the House of Commons and later in the House of Lords.

Condition

In the original green cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with light scattered spotting predominantly to the first and last few pages. Light age toning to the endpapers. Contemporary ink inscriptions to the front endpaper.
