What Our Customers Say...
Description
First Edition, Illustrated, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce
The very scarce first edition.
Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece.
This work was written by the historian Manekshah Sorabshah Commissariat, and features an analysis of the Mandelslo's travels through Gujarat in India. The work was originally intended as a prefatory critical summary to be published in his other work, 'History of Gujarat', but found there to be enough material for an entirely new work.
Johan Albrecht de Mandelslo was a German adventurer from the seventeenth century, best known for his travels through Iran and India and his observations on the Mughal Empire.
In the publisher's original cloth.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally excellent with only slight bumping to the extremities. Minor offsetting to the endpapers. Front hinge cracked after the frontispiece, and to the rear at the blanks. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages.
