With ten monochrome photographs over five plates and a sketch map showing the author's route from Irkutsk to Svetloie. Collated complete.

Written by Malcolm Burr, an English author, translator and entomologist. Burr translated a number of works by Russian geologist Paul Nazaroff into English, including the notable work 'Hunting through Central Asia'. 

This work covers Burr's time across Siberia during a time of political unrest, and includes his journey on The Trans-Siberian, his experiences with the native people and his time shooting the birds of the region. 

An uncommon first edition of this interesting travel work.

Condition

In publisher's cloth binding. Externally very smart with fading to the boards. Evidence of label removal to front free endpaper. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Marginal age toning.
