What Our Customers Say...

Description

First Edition, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, Very Scarce, With Dustwrapper

The first UK edition. First edition was published in New York in 1917.

In the publisher's original quarter cloth, with the original glassine wrap.

This charming collection of poetry is comprised of clever nonsense verses which provide tips on bird identification, through comparing it to a plant with a similar sounding name. The author makes amusing links between 'The Tern' and 'The Turnip', 'The Hen' and 'The Lichen', 'The Quail' and 'The Kale' and many more.

Wonderfully illustrated with striking monochrome drawings throughout.

Written and illustrated by American physicist and inventor, Robert Williams Wood.

Condition

In the publisher's original quarter cloth, with the original glassine wrap. Externally, excellent, with light fading to the extremities. Light offsetting and age toning to endpapers. Glassine wrap is also excellent, with light edge wear and creasing, and the odd light mark. Internally, firmly bound with very bright and clean pages.
