Description
Colour Plates, Illustrated, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper
This delightful and whimsical collection of children's poetry by Elizabeth Godley is accompanied by humorous illustrations by Rex Whistler. Found in the unclipped dust wrapper, with a colour plate to the frontispiece, and numerous in-text illustrations. The early twentieth century artist painted murals, portraits in and also designed theatrical costumes. The artist died in the second world war. Undated. Dated using JISC from a copy held at the libraries of University College of London.
Condition
In the publisher's original green cloth binding, found in the unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, lovely. Very lightly bumped to the head and tail of the spine, with a little discolouration of the cloth to the spine. The dust wrapper has a small chip to the fore edge of the front board, and a centimetre-long horizontal closed tear at the top edge. Internally, firmly bound, with bright and clean pages throughout.
