This work was written by historical geographer, professor of American history and writer Archer Butler Hulbert. This work describes the life of the pioneers of the California Trail in 1849 during the gold rush, written from accounts found in numerous journals.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally excellent with bumping to the extremities, slight fading to the gilt text predominantly to the spine and a mark to the extremities of the rear board. Very slight age toning to the endpapers and minor marks to the rear. The wrap is worn with age toning, loss to the head of the spine, slight loss to the extremities, the odd small closed tear, minor marks, a 6.5" tear to the front and the front and the rear detached from one another but present. Internally firmly bound with generally bright pages with the odd spot, heavier to the front.
