The first edition of this very scarce work.

Illustrated with a monochrome frontispiece, and four monochrome plates including a map to the rear and folding plates. Collated, complete. 

Part of the 'Shivaji Tercentenary Memorial Series'. 

This volume is split into two sections, and provides a history of the seventeenth century Indian ruler Shivaji, with section one covering the period before his coronation, and part two covering his rule until his death. The work is made up of a collection of historical documents, depicting this time in India's history through correspondences, records, and diary extracts. 

Bound in quarter cloth with paper covered boards.

Condition

Bound in quarter cloth with paper covered boards. Externally very smart with bumping and slight fading to the extremities of the boards, slight wear to the extremities. Minor offsetting to the endpapers. Internally, one page tender and one plate disbound but present, otherwise firm. Pages age toned and clean.
