Description

German. Early edition, first published in 1930. Illustrated in colour throughout. A charming children's story following a family of snowmen through all sorts of adventures in their local forest. They meet a range of wild creatures, partake in some classic winter games, and even go on a sleigh ride. Written by Anneliese Umlauf-Lamatsch, an Austrian teacher and author, best known for this work. Illustrated by Ernst Kutzer, an Austrian painter, graphic artist, author and picture book illustrator.
Condition
In the original quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper boards. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor chipping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Front hinge starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Contemporary ink inscriptions to the front endpaper.
