Description

First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding

A lovely copy of the first edition, first impression of this novel.

A work by by English poet, novelist and horticulturalist Vita Sackville-West, a prolific letter writer and diarist known for inspiring the androgynous protagonist of 'Orlando', written by her friend and lover Virginia Woolf.

'All Passion Spent' is one of Sackville-West's best known novels, addressing women's control over their lives.

A literary fiction novel split into three parts, the reader follows Lady Slane after the death of her husband. Sharing much with Sackville-West, Lady Slane explicitly states that she is not a feminist, and gives voice to many of Sackville-West's personal opinions.
