A detailed travelogue from the author's experiences in Persia, with chapters on the sights and sounds of Isfahan, opium, locusts, shopping, telegraphs, Persian gardens, the month of Muharrum, and much more. Written and illustrated by Fred Richards, a British etcher and artist who studied architecture at the Royal Collage of Art and traveled widely.
Condition
In the original red cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. Much of the text block remains unopened.
