What Our Customers Say...

Description

Limited Edition, Original Binding, Publishers' Original Binding

One of 750 standard limited sets (numbered 51 to 800), this copy being number 765.

In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding, with marbled paper covered boards.

A delightful collection of the dramatic works of John Dryden. He was appointed England's first Poet Laureate and is regarded as hugely influential during the Stuart Restoration, with the period even being referred to as the 'Age of Dryden' in literary circles.

Includes 'Don Sebastian', 'Amphitryon', 'Secret Love', 'The Spanish Fryar', 'The Duke of Guise', 'All for Love', and 'The Kind Keeper', among many other works.

Edited by author, clergyman and scholar, Montague Summers.

From Nonesuch Press, a private press founded in 1922 by Francis Meynell, his second wife Vera Mendel, and their mutual friend David Garnett. The press was at its peak in the 1920s and 1930s, but continued operating through the mid-1960s. Nonesuch was unusual among private presses in that it used an Albion press to design their books, but had them printed by commercial printers.
