The first edition of this scarce work on the architectural history of the Old Bank of England in the publisher's original blue cloth binding.

With seventy-five monochrome plates, a ground plan, and twenty further architectural elevations (sixteen folding) to the rear of the work. Collated, complete.

This book was published following the decision to demolish and rebuild the Bank and so focuses mainly on the architectural history of the various premises over its history.

Condition

In the publisher's original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with handling marks to boards and slight bumping to extremities and spine head and tail. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright with marginal age toning and the odd spot, heavier to the first and last few pages. Contains prior owner's bookplate to front paste down.
