Illustrated with two monochrome plates, one of which is a fold-out, and 12 fold-out maps. Collated, complete.

The Liverpool Scottish served as the 10th Battalion of the King’s Liverpool Regiment. This volume chronicles the regiment’s service from its formation through the First World War, with detailed accounts of battles on the Western Front and regimental life.

A. M. McGilchrist, writing under the auspices of the regiment, produced this official history just over a decade after the war, preserving the Liverpool Scottish’s experiences for veterans and future generations.

Condition

In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding with paper covered boards. Externally, generally smart. Slight soiling to boards. Slight rubbing and bumping to extremities. Previous owner's ink inscription to front paste down. The odd slight scratch to boards. The odd handing mark to boards, with one or two ink marks to rear board. One or two minor indentations to rear board. Internally, generally firmly bound. Hinges slightly strained in places, but firm. Pages bright and clean, if slightly age toned with the odd spot to first and last few leaves, and one or two to spots to the fore edge. Offsetting to pages 33-32.
