In the original blind-stamped cloth binding.
Comprising the works of Roman poet and teacher of rhetoric, Decimus Magnus Ausonius, including The Moselle, Patchwork Quilt for a Nuptial Bed and Bissula.
From the Fanfrolico Press, a London-based private press founded by Jack Lindsay, John Kirtley and P. R. Stephensen that operated from 1923-1930.
Decorated with vignettes by Edward Bawden, an English painter, illustrator and graphic artist. Together with his wife, he was a principal member of the Great Bardfield Artists, a community of artists influential in the art scene of England during the mid-20th century.
Condition
In the original blind-stamped cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with fading to the spine and borders. Scattered dark spots to the boards. Small bookplate of one Richard Luckett to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean, with offsetting to the endpapers.
