The first U.K. trade edition of 'Moby Dick' to be illustrated by Rockwell Kent.

Illustrated with head and tail pieces, and the occasional in-text illustration. 

'Moby Dick' is one of the Great American Novels, though its brilliance was only recognised in the twentieth century, after the death of the author, Herman Melville. The famous novel tells of Ishmael and his captain's maniacal quest for revenge on the great white sperm whale Moby Dick.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light rubbing and marks to the cloth. Minor shelf wear to the head and tail of the spine. Spots to the fore edge and endpapers. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
