Arnold Wilson's account of his time as colonial administrator in Mesopotamia during World War One. 

Wilson provides a first-hand account of the conflict in the area, from the occupation of Basra to the Basra Wilayat in 1917.

Illustrated with two folding maps, and twenty-eight plates.

Collated, lacking two maps.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Light marks to the boards and spine. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Minor rubbing to the joints. Small tear to the head of the rear joint. Rear board is a little faded. Prior owner's ink inscription to the recto of the front endpaper. Spots to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Lacking two folding maps.
