Including an appendix of proper names, weights and measurements, Baker offers the reader an extensive dictionary that would be very useful for anyone wishing to gain a comprehensive understanding of the French language.
Baker was experienced at referencing, having also written 'A Guide to Historical Fiction' in 1914.
Condition
In the publisher's original cloth. Externally, smart. Bumping to the head and tail of the spine, and to the extremities. Handling marks and slight signs of shelf wear. Slight lifting to the black cloth on back board near spine. The odd spot to end papers and mark. A torn bookplate to front paste down. Internally, generally firmly bound, with signs of wear to hinge at front board. A split leaf on pp.435/436. Pages are bright and clean, with the rare spot to extremities.
