In the original unclipped dust wrapper, designed by Paul Rotha.

An interesting treatise by H. G. Wells, looking into the vast development of film in the first decades of the twentieth century.

Wells wrote this work at a time when the phenomena of cinema was exploding, exploring what made film so popular, and where Wells thought cinema would go in the future.

Condition

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Light bumping and rubbing to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities, with a small tear to the head of the spine. Light marks to the cloth. Front hinge is starting but firm. Dust wrapper is worn, with chips and tears. Rear fly leaf is detached but present, as is part of the head of the spine. Spine is age-toned. A few light handling marks to the wraps, including to the reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
