First edition. Illustrated with a frontispiece and sixteen plates. Collated complete. A novel about adolescent boys at a British boarding school, being the complete collection of school stories whose three juvenile protagonists display a know-it-all, cynical outlook on patriotism and authority. Written by Joseph Rudyard Kipling, an English journalist, novelist, poet, and short-story writer who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1907. Illustrated by Leonard Raven-Hill, an English artist, illustrator and cartoonist.

Condition

In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor wear and light fading to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with age toning to the endpapers. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown.
