Illustrated to 'Canary' with a monochrome frontispiece, vignettes and two monochrome plates depicting scenes from the film adaptation. One vignette and two folding plans to 'Bishop', collated, complete.
This set features two volumes of murder mystery novels following the adventures of the sleuth Philo Vance. The works were written by S. S. Van Dine, the pseudonym of William Huntington Wright. His 'Philo Vance' works were often adapted to film and radio, with 'The "Canary" Murder Case being adapted into a American pre-code film by Paramount in 1929, with this edition featuring photos from the film.

In the publisher's original cloths. Lacking dust wrappers. Externally excellent with fading to the spine to 'Bishop', and slight rubbing to the extremities. Offsetting to the endpapers to 'Canary'. Internally firmly bound with clean and bright pages to 'Bishop' and age toned and generally clean pages with one page of spotting to 'Canary'.
