Description

Rebound

A uniformly bound set of four of the entertaining works of P. G. Wodehouse.

This set contains:

'Jill the Reckless', the ninth printing, published by Herbert Jenkins. Undated, dated 1929 from the list of Wodehouse's titles, the most recent being 'Summer Lightning'. Six pages of adverts to the rear. This novel follows the adventures of heroine Jill Mariner, a sweet-natured and wealthy young woman through financial disaster, an adventure with a parrot, a policeman and the colourful proletariat, a broken engagement, an awkward stay with some grasping relatives, employment as a chorus girl, and the finding of true love.

'Meet Mr. Mulliner', the 1929 Tauchnitz edition. A witty collection of nine short stories, all of which are narrated by the talkative pub raconteur, Mr. Mulliner, who has the impressive ability to whip up a story on any given subject. All apart from one of the stories are told from the comfort of the Angler's Rest pub, with the exception of "Honeysuckle Cottage".

'Big Money', the 1932 Tauchnitz edition. This novel follows the concerns of two young men: Godfrey, Lord Biskerton, "Biscuit", and his friend John Beresford Conway, "Berry", and their efforts to raise money to woo their respective girls.

'Lord Emsworth and Others', the 1938 Tauchnitz edition. Four pages of adverts to the rear. A collection of nine entertaining and comical short stories, featuring Blandings Castle, the Oldest Member, Freddie Widgeon, Mr Mulliner, and Ukridge.
