Two first edition ornithological works from William E. Glegg, examining the history of birds in the adjoining counties of Essex and Middlesex.

The earlier of these works is Glegg's 1929 study of the birds of Essex, illustrated with twenty-nine photographic plates, and with a large folding colour map. Collated, complete.

The second volume is the author's 1935 examination of the history of the birds of Middlesex, illustrated with six photographic plates, and with a monochrome folding map. Collated, complete.

These informative works are beautifully bound in half morocco. With endpapers renewed, but retaining the original half title to each volume.

Condition

Rebound in half morocco, with marbled paper covered boards. Endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright, but with spotting and instances of foxing throughout each volume, most concentrated to pages facing plates.
