    First Edition, Publishers' Original Binding, With Dustwrapper

    The first edition of this final volume of poetry by Thomas Hardy.

    In the original unclipped dust wrapper.

    This anthology was posthumously published, and exhibits how Hardy experimented with metre until the end.

    Touchingly, this anthology closes with the piece titled 'He Resolved to Say No More'.

    Condition

    In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Spine is faded. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Prior owner's pencil notes to the recto of the front endpaper. Dust wrapper is generally smart, a little edge worn, with small chips and closed tears, heavier to the head and tail of the spine. Spine is age-toned and a little rubbed. Light handling marks to the wraps. Light rubbing to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
