Nicholas Cox's noted seventeenth century hunting guide, with a preface by E. D. Cuming, with this being a limited edition reprinted from the fourth edition from 1697. The work provides accounts and guidance on hunting various wildlife such as foxes and hares, and information on raising and training sporting dogs.
Condition
Bound in quarter vellum with the original dust wrapper. Dust wrapper adhered to boards, could be detached with careful handling. Bookplate belonging to 'Geraldine Hirsch' to the front pastedown, spotting to the endpapers with a gift inscription to the front free endpaper. Front hinge weak and rear tender. The wrap is excellent with only a minor mark to the plate to the front and minimal shelf wear. Internally firmly bound with generally clean and bright pages with light spotting to the front and rear.
