The first edition of this work. A collection of stories for young people by Charles Herbert, a very scarce volume not held institutionally by any libraries. Featuring adventure stories, stories about nursing rhymes, school, sports, and more juvenile fiction. With illustrations in text and full page, both in colour and in black and white by Alfred Pearse, F. J. Sherman, and E. A. Shearlock.
Condition
In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding over illustrated paper covered boards. Externally smart with minor shelf wear, a minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Minor chipping to the head and tail of the spine, minor closed tear to the tail of the front joint. Keadby Wesleyan Sunday School prize bookplate to the front free endpaper, presented to N. Cowling in 1931. Minor puncture mark to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Odd minor spot to the odd leaf, otherwise the pages are bright and clean. With illustrations in colour and in black and white, both in text and in full page.
