The narrative depicts protagonist Arnold Blettsworthy, a man of culture and refinement, becoming stranded on the remote Rampole Island, of which the only only inhabitants are a group of cannibals.
Written by H.G. Wells, a prolific English writer with over fifty novels and dozens of short stories.

In publisher's original cloth binding. In the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent. Shelf wear to head and tail of spine. Dust wrapper is very smart. Sunning to spine. Shelf wear to extremities, with loss to head of spine. Closed tear to head of rear board of wrap. Small closed tears to tail of wrap spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with spotting towards the front and rear of the work.
