First edition. Direct from the library of the late Hugh Selbourne MD (1906-1973) a noted book collector and diarist. Hilaire Belloc was an Anglo-French writer and historian. He was a prolific twentieth century writer and his Catholic faith widely impacted his works. Belloc is best known for his Cautionary Tales for Children which is a parody of the popular 19th century Cautionary Tales.
Condition
In original quarter cloth and paper covered boards. Externally, excellent with minor shelfwear to the extremities. Some handling marks to spine label and to label to front board. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean throughout. Constable and Co order form loosely inserted.
