This volume deals with the districts most favoured by travellers across the Bavarian Alps, Vorarlberg, Tyrol, the Dolomites, Salzburg, Western Carinthia and Eastern Tyrol. Also the only edition with Dolomites included in the title.
With sixty-five maps (twenty-eight folding), nineteen town plans, and eleven panoramas (six folding). Collated, complete.
These 'Baedeker' handbooks, from the company of German publisher Karl Baedeker, set the standard for authoritative guidebooks for tourists. They contain, among other things, maps and information regarding routes, travel facilities, noteworthy sights, attractions and museums, written by specialists.
Condition
In the original cloth binding. Externally, excellent, with only minor rubbing to the extremities. Internally, pages 105-108, folding map between pages 174-175, folding map between pages 186-187, pages 219-222 (including folding panorama), and pages 235-238 are detached but present. Pages are bright and generally clean, with the odd spot, and browning to the gutters to several leaves, particularly to those leaves and folding maps detached.
