A limited edition of this work, being copy four hundred and seventy six of fifteen hundred copies. In the original decorative marble cloth. With five plates by Jacquier, engraved in copper by C. Sigrist and in watercolour by The Curwen Press. Collated, complete. A lovely Nonesuch Press edition of this notable work by James Thomson, originally published between 1726 and 1730. The Nonesuch Press was a prolific private press, producing 140 beautifully printed editions of poetry and literature. A charming copy of this classic poem.
Condition
In the original publisher's marble cloth binding. Externally in lovely condition. Very slight fading to spine. Some minor shelf wear to the head and tail of the spine. Very minor spotting to endpapers. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Some slight offsetting on pages opposite the colour plates. Some slight dusting to rough cut fore edge.
