First edition, limited to 1,240 copies signed by the author, this copy being number 659. 

Author's signature to the colophon. 

In the publisher's original paper covered boards, with the original glassine wrap. 

Often regarded as the first great modern Irish novelist, George Moore was amongst the first English-language authors to display influences by the French realists. 

This one-act play is set in 1599 and features Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth and Francis Bacon amongst the cast of characters.

Condition

In the original paper covered boards. With the original glassine. Externally, very smart, with minor shelf wear and a couple small marks to the boards. Glassine is chipped and sunned to the spine. Internally, firmly bound with bright and clean pages.
